Knowledge Is Power

In the stone ages man had a strong physics, but he was not as powerful as a modern man is. The primitive man's awareness was limited to his physical needs and requirements. He did not think beyond his hunger, appetite thirst or satisfaction. Knowledge enables man to acquire confidence and supremacy over others. As ignorant man is like a ship without a captain. It is the gift of knowledge that bestows upon man an exquisite position. When man began to unfold the secrets of the universe, he proved himself supreme to all other creatures because of his spirit of enquiry.

"What a masterpiece man is, so noble in ideas, so grand in faculty and so great in knowledge and awareness." (Shakespeare)

The word knowledge stands for awareness, education, skills, potential and talent. All the educated people are call men of knowledge. Besides scientists and scholars all the artisans, technicians, mechanics, electrician, plumber, riders and drivers are well equipped with knowledge.
The process of attainment of knowledge is not restricted to education institutions only. This is something practical. One can learn so much through working, traveling, experiencing and experimenting.
It is rightly quoted:

"Vast stretches of the Earth are open to man like a book. Every object adds to the knowledge of man."

One should know one's own skills as well as abilities. "Know thyself" is a guiding principle rendered by Socrates. He also states:

"As for me, all I know is that I know nothing."

In a nutshell, it can be stated that knowledge adds to man's prosperity. It teaches him how to grow stronger, how to defend himself and at the same time how to save humanity from his enhancing powers.
